Re: iva test

Congrats on the new car! Once again proving that you don't need to do anything to (or replace) the US ("flat beam" (?)) headlights to get the car through the IVA.

Some of you may have seen this current advert for a US spec car, where the advertiser is claiming that Ian Allan changed the headlights to "RHD" ones to get through the IVA (Duh?).

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chevrolet-Corvette-Stingray-/19233...

I am starting to wonder if UK/RHD spec (dip to the left?) C7 headlights actually exist? Can anyone on here with a UK supplied/spec C7 (Bauer Millett or Ian Allan supplied) tell me whether the headlights dip to the left? Or are they "flat beam" like a US, and I believe Euro mainland, spec car? i.e. they don't dip to the right (or left).

Hi all,

Hope you're having a great 2018. I have a Z06 with Z07 package on it's way from Trump-land and had a few questions on the IVA.

I have learnt from various people that headlamps do not need adjustment nor do headlamp washers be fitted. However the following need to be done:

SIDE REPEATERS
On the side repeaters, I have gone with the slightly more expensive option of buying the Euro wing mirrors with side repeaters (no magnified glass nor the silly 'objects may appear closer message').

REAR FOG LAMP
This is where my knowledge gets hazy - with respect to the rear fog lamp, it looks likes there are tons of different options BUT I would like to understand:
1) where is the official location for the Euro rear fog lamp? And is the wiring already there?
2) where is the official switch located on the dashboard?

INFOTAINMENT (optional)
- Anyone with experience of getting MyLink DAB, FM stations and satnav working through replacement with equivalent Euro OEM parts.

Detailed ... I know ... but any help would be much appreciated!!!

Re: iva test

I am investigating C7 IVA process too
I think the IVA test on headlamps requires headlamp washers if the headlights are HID.
can anyone confirm this or has the IVA test changed again. Or is it that the C7 headlight is not HID

cheers
keith

Keith,

Here is the latest on what I have found.

HEADLAMPS
- I've been told by a few different people that because of magnetic ride control, you don't need to get this done.

SIDE REPEATERS
- No one knows whether the wiring loom for US heated mirrors + anti-glare has the repeater for the indicator. If it does (which I will hopefully find out soon) then we are winning
- If it doesn't, one needs to drag a wire out of the footwell to each of the wing mirrors

REAR FOG LAMP
- lots of different ways to do this, but I'm aiming for the least disruptive

INFORTAINMENT
- OnStar is unlikely to work as the US/Euro are apparently different systems
- No one (yet) has tried to remove the Sirium XM module and replace with DAB
- The Swedes (Customtronix) will amend the radio and navi to work across Europe

Hope that helps!
