London 'T' charge


We were having a discussion today (appropriately at London's Excel Centre) about the additional 'T' congestion charge and whether it would be applicable 24/7 to our vehicles.
This is the charge of £10 in addition to the current £11-50 charge and in operation over the same hours (Monday to Friday between 7am to 6pm) specifically targeted at older diesel and petrol vehicles that are non compliant with Euro 4 / IV emission standards.

Those of us with older vehicles (40 years and older are exempt from the additional £10)

These vehicles continue to be subject to the Congestion Charge

^^ LOLz, I was gonna say that too.

Even on a careful motorway long run my little 327 only gets tops of 18mpg. Though it does have a rubbish carb setup on it at the moment (aka it needs replacing). I might be able to do better later on once I've swapped it over for the new one.

That was with the old carb that was running rich on a long run of about 150 miles. I'll see what it does when I get it back after its upgrades and next drive to Cornwall. Bear in mind its only a 327 (4 speed manual) and I don't really drive that enthusiastically.

IMHO a Hi Po small block (like 340 hp 327) driven enthusiastically may struggle to better a 'cooking' big block in urban use Scratchchin

Mine's not even the High Output 327 - just the common or garden base 300hp 327. Surprised Confused Crying or Very sad
