Electric headlight actuator conversion

Hi, well, after waiting 2 weeks for new headlight actuators, one of them has a shot diaphragm. Banghead
So, as theyíre from the states, return postage etc, itís probably not worth bothering, and itís got me thinking of electric actuators. Looking at kits online, it seems stupidly expensive for 2 solenoids. Are they worth the money?

Re: Electric headlight actuator conversion

If you've still got your copy of Aprils Vette News there's an article I wrote about this.
I made brackets and fitted off-the-shelf actuators to do the same job all for less than £200....but it did take quite a bit of messing about. I'l be at the Nationals if you want to take a look. They work well.
Another fella on here did it using MX-5 headlamp motors.
The kits are expensive for the parts therein but you're paying for the convenience of a bolt on solution.

Hi, I donít have the April copy Iím afraid. Iím hoping to be at the nationals, with the car if itís registered in time, or without if not. Be nice to see the setup.

I can confirm Tim, Andy's (forest gump ) conversion works fantastic, best Iíve seen, not that Iíve seen too many. 👍🏻
