Anyway, one thing to watch out for - once you've studied your Black Book and got acquainted with RPOs - is the rear suspension on post-'74 cars. Option 'FE7' is called
'Gymkhana Suspension', whereby the rear transverse spring is multi-leaf STEEL (can't remember if it's 7-leaf or 9-leaf). This will give you a damn hard ride, which - in fairness - is the main point, but in my experience is not very satisfactory on the majority of roads in the UK. The standard rear spring is a single-leaf composite (fibreglass) effort, which
I found more tolerable on the C3 I had (an '82).

Good luck with your hunt.

You've been spending too much time judging those overrated C2s Jack! Laughing Laughing

The composite rear spring was introduced in 1981, initially on autos and "standard suspension" cars. By 1982 that meant all except the FE7 Gymkhana cars. FE7 came in in 1974. Chevy offered a special suspension package (F41) for the first couple of years of the "sharks", then an "off Road Package" for a few years.

Personally, I think replacing the original metal spring with a composite item is one of the best things you can do to a 68-82 Vette, along with "proper" shock of course. It made ours soooo much more comfortable! Thumbs up

Ah ….. I had a feeling you were 'sixty-something' Mick...…… 69's a good a number (!?).
Yes, I hope to get to John M's to look at your '66; we're currently trying to get a convenient date for the maximum number of guys (& gal if Neal Bruce can make it).
Best,

Why is it a Lurker gets more replies than a post by a club member ?

Most of them are "off-topic"! Smile

Surely if you are able join this forum in the first place, you have as much right to an answer to your question as a club member.

Lots of threads go "off topic", so what?

Yes you are correct but an acknowledgement from OP might encourage more replies? Manners.

Off topic! On here there's hardly any topics, post where you like at least it's a post.

It doesn't bother me, just saying!

I'm sometimes a little hesitant to get into a ton of stuff when the OP is a casually interested party, because we often don't see anything back after the first post....
