Mon 28 Jan 19 17:33 I used to have similar when I was riding my 2015 Royal Enfield Continental GT. Every time I pulled up there'd be an old gent who (without exception) tell me confidently that he used to ride one, that he first saw one during the way, that he also likes (insert other bike make here). Never once were they correct, and most failed to notice that it was on a yellow 2015 plate! I suppose the same mentality mean any American car must be a Mustang etc.

Mon 28 Jan 19 17:51 Re: Hilarious quote of the weekend..... When we were buying petrol for the Corvette we, or that is June, as she was invariably paying at the cash desk, used to get aggravated when the cashiers always asked if it was a kit-car, or (worse!) a Ferrari!

Mon 28 Jan 19 18:10 Re: Hilarious quote of the weekend..... The opposite extreme to this is the question "what size is the engine"? - then trying to act as though they have some knowledge say "Oh, I suppose 5.7 litre" - I usually respond "489 cubic inches" -"Er whats that - just under 5 litres?" - the response "8 litre - 8000 cc" is usually met with disbelief or total incredulity. Of course the next question is "how many miles to the gallon (or gallons to the mile) ha, ha, ha" - again incredulity follows when I say "15 to 16 mpg at cruise speeds".
